Complex TAVR in a Patient with Multisystem Failure

In this case presentation, Dr. Matthew Summers performs a complex Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) on a 58-year-old female patient in critical condition. The patient presented in extremis with cardiogenic shock, hypoxic respiratory failure, left ventricular thrombus, and severe aortic stenosis. Due to the combination of life-threatening comorbidities, she was deemed unsuitable for conventional surgical intervention.

This video highlights the advanced decision-making, multidisciplinary coordination, and technical precision required to navigate such high-risk anatomy and physiology. Dr. Summers details the procedural steps, intraoperative challenges, and the strategic considerations that guided the team's approach to successfully performing TAVR in this critically ill patient.
