Daniel Graf, M.D., discusses his role with Sentara, describes the resources that Sentara has to diagnose/monitor Epilepsy patients, and the broad range of medical and neuropsychological services provided to treat patients at a Level 3 Epilepsy Center.
Hi my name is Daniel Graf and I'm a board certified neurologist with specialty training in epilepsy radiology and clinical neurophysiology. My clinical and research interests include various treatment modalities for medically refractory epilepsy patients. I recently came from Geisinger Medical Center in pennsylvania, where I was the director of surgical epilepsy and I joined Sentara in the fall as director of neurophysiology here. My mission is to improve availability and access to rapid referrals for electro diagnostic studies such as E. G. S. E. M. G. S and evoked potentials and consultations for suspected seizures and epilepsy patients at Sentara. We offer state of the art facilities to diagnose epilepsy including E. G. S. At multiple hospitals throughout the area. And we have a dedicated epilepsy monitoring unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, our flagship hospital that's been newly renovated. We also offer ambulatory video E. G. Technology to diagnose patients from the comfort of their own homes as a level three epilepsy referral center. We offer medical and dietary therapies as well as minimally invasive surgeries including neuromodulation and laser ablation for medical refractory epilepsy patients. I'm excited to offer the best care available to our epilepsy patients from the Hampton roads area and beyond
