I'm Doctor Amenia. I'm an advanced heart failure and heart transplant cardiologist at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital will be walking you today through a procedure for one of our heart failure patients who got cardamom implanted to reduce risk of heart fair hospitalization. We'll walk you through the implantation of the cardamom, which is the pressure sensor monitor. And we're getting access from the groin in our patient here through the femoral vein. We can get it also from the neck. Through the internal jugular vein. We identify the desired artery and this is the pulmonary artery actually. And after we identify the artery, we put the wire and over the wire we go with the sensor. As you can see here it looks like a caterpillar going over the wire and over the wire we deploy it in the desired location, the pulmonary artery, one of the branches and after it is deployed we pull the wire back and we go do it slowly to prevent dislocation of the sensor. After the procedure is done, the patient recuperated well and he went home the same day and he continues to do their readings on a daily basis and doing well clinically
